1.700 TEU Container Ship
This project was a collaborative testing and demonstration project. The ship was docked in Bremerhaven, making it easily accessible. Although the ship, built in China in 2010, did not have any apparent damages to its pipeline systems, two locations on the Poop Deck PS were selected for the HANSELINER deployment for testing purposes:
The end section of approximately 6.5m of a tank ventilation line, DN 80; only the removal of a fan head was necessary for this.
- A deck drainage line, DN 100, approximately 2m in length at the aft edge; a short liner was installed for this.
- The initially selected line in the area of the boat crane, after cleaning and camera inspection, showed a total length of 6.5m with five 90° bends, measuring approximately 2.5 x 1.5m.
Despite some challenges, such as the temporary failure of the boat crane winches, which can be considered typical, even if unforeseeable, the operation was successful. The considerations for selecting the treated lines were very helpful, especially in terms of identifying limitations and risks. The operation was recorded as an experience and training exercise.
