HANSEATIC HORIZON presents HANSELINER – a revolutionary and sustainable pipe rehabilitation technology for the maritime sector!
The HANSELINER represents an innovative procedure specifically developed for imple-mentation in the maritime industry. It enables the efficient restoration of pipelines through an internal repair method, which minimizes or eliminates the need for dismantling work.
Let Managing Director Jens Meyer explain how HANSELINER came about and what it’s all about:
Today &Tomorrow
In the global maritime industry, approximately 20% of older steel pipes on ships necessitate replacement every 15 to 20 years (depending on the vessel type) to ensure uninterrupted, trouble-free system operations. However, this process often entails the dismantling of costly technical equipment and, at times, irreversible destruction before reaching the pipes that require replacement. The current state of pipe construction at shipyards worldwide incurs substantial expenses.
These 20% of pipesthat require maintenance can be repaired from the inside, meaning that costly technical systems and expensive fittings no longer need to be taken out of service or replaced. Our process offers an unbeatable value-for-money solution that preserves the original – and therefore sustainable – condition of these important components.
The HANSELINER solution plays a crucial role in promoting sustainability within the shipping industry. By preventing the premature scrapping of pipelines, it eliminates the need to construct new ones, thereby conserving valuable resources. This sustainable approach promotes the circular economy and reduces the industry’s environmental footprint.
POSSIBILITY OF FURTHER MARITIME MARKETS
Possibilities for further maritime markets, including ferry connections in regions like Indonesia and the Greek Islands within the Mediterranean Sea. Additionally, our products demonstrate potential for application in SO2 water scrubber systems, subject to proof of pressure resistance, as well as exhaust pipes, with proof of heat resistance under evaluation.
Kerosine pipelines Idar-Oberstein (lab pending, new resin needed)
LNG Schleswig-Holstein (proof of tightness for existing underground pipelines open)
Brunsbüttel refinery fire lines (proof of pressure resistance and resin development open)
Air conditioning/ventilation ducts (already in test phase - I.S.T.)
Klima-/Lüftungskanäle (bereits in der Testphase – Trelleborg)
Over the past four years, we have received numerous inquiries from the industry that, despite thorough technical elaboration, could not be processed. This unfortunate outcome can be attributed to a combination of factors, primarily the impact of the global COVID-19 pandemic and the constraints imposed by limited resources and capital.

„Pipe-in-Pipe"

"We thank you for your efforts onboard our 100 meter+ superyacht project.
We are very glad that you could offer your new but reliable liner technique as solution to prevent many lines – even those leading through fuel tanks – from any leakage, thereby avoiding higher costs by exchanging the pipes under complicated circumstances.
We appreciate your open-minded way of finding suitable, tailor-made technical solutions.
Furthermore, it was a pleasure to see the very good co-operation with our crew and the Shipyard, our subcontractor and the professional manner in which the entire project was carried out. Looking forward to continuing with further vessels of our fleet. "

500 TEU Container Ships
This project involved a total of seven series ships that were over 25 years old and required refurbishment to extend their service life by another 10 years. The project focused on all the steel pipelines in the ships that run through the four fuel tanks between the cargo holds:

Megajob on board a Mega Yacht
Initiated by the owner's representative and Hanseatic Horizon (HHH) to avoid extensive pipe renewals and necessary by-works – apart from the minimised pipe work possible to be done from the open deck.

1,700 TEU Container Ship
This project was a collaborative testing and demonstration project. The ship was docked in Bremerhaven, making it easily accessible. Although the ship, built in China in 2010, did not have any apparent damages to its pipeline systems, two locations on the Poop Deck PS were selected for the HANSELINER deployment for testing purposes

Passenger Ship for an English Tourist Corporation
This project involved a ship that was over 30 years old. The task was carried out in the dry dock in Cádiz. It was initially planned to renovate 200 meters of pipes...

Cap San Diego
The Cap San Diego is the famous museum ship located at the "Überseebrücke" in the Port of Hamburg. It is the last of six ships built in Hamburg and Kiel in 1961 and 1962. The ship is still in operational condition. The damaged pipe, although short in length, caused water damage in the office during rainfall.

Second Commitment onboard the Mega Yacht
A total of ten crossover overflow lines for five pairs of Bilge and BW tank (10 in total) are to be treated and coated by the SPRAYLINER system. Main task: Cleaning the pipes, including the removal of water and deposits – the removal of all debris is carried out by the buyer’s cleaners.
